"(part)" means a neighborhood's addresses are split between two or more zips. List prices show where most homes for sale in each zip fall right now (the middle 80%), from Canopy MLS. They update every few hours. A zip with fewer than 5 homes for sale shows N/A.
Three things a zip code won't tell you
1. Whether you're in Charlotte city limits. A Charlotte mailing address doesn't always mean the home is inside the city. Parts of 28227 are in Mint Hill, and parts of 28270 are in Matthews. Several other Charlotte zips include homes in unincorporated Mecklenburg County. Going the other way, some homes inside Charlotte city limits have Matthews (28105), Pineville (28134) or Huntersville (28078) addresses. City limits decide your property tax rate and which town provides services like trash pickup. Look up any address in POLARIS to see its jurisdiction.
2. Which schools are assigned. CMS boundaries don't follow zip codes. Two homes in the same zip can be assigned to different schools. Check the CMS student boundary maps for the exact address and school year.
3. What a neighborhood is like block by block. Zips are big. Most cover several neighborhoods with very different homes and prices. The Charlotte/Mecklenburg Quality of Life Explorer breaks the county into about 460 smaller areas with official data on housing, transportation and more.
